Ex- BBC Specialists Participate in Parliamentary Inquiry Following Allegations of Partiality in Unauthorized Memo

We start with questions from Conservative MP Caroline Dinenage, who chairs the group.

She commences by providing background to the unauthorized memorandum prepared by Michael Prescott and printed in a national newspaper.

"I don't want the BBC slanting in any particular direction, My only wish is for it balanced, unbiased and fair," he says.

When asked if he thinks the BBC is institutionally biased, the adviser replies: "Absolutely not. It is important to note, numerous aspects the BBC does is top-tier - both documentary and entertainment programming."

But he adds: "There exists substantial tasks that requires attention at the BBC."

The second ex-adviser BBC adviser interviewed by the panel, Caroline Daniel, remarks she regards the British Broadcasting Corporation very seriously and that it has a "persistent practice and lively discussion" on dynamic and complex subjects.

"Whether the BBC was willing to conduct a proper dialogue and argument and take action?" she asks herself. "In my view, affirmative, they were."
