Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, but will the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this season, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of guests.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' new album, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a talented footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "The side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've previously told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend football side," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly owned a football club for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have been defeated in their previous couple matches - although both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their streak under their manager, or the home side responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I think what happened against Aston Villa was a blip.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

My son advised me to select Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it in reality turns out to be quite close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.

They have got plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We've not seen anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

However I am not going to do that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their positive results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home record, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to predict. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
