Jurgen Klopp says a return to coach Liverpool is plausible in theory.

Jurgen Klopp, who left Anfield in 2024, remarked that a future comeback remains something that could happen. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-year spell that included Champions League success and ending the club's long wait for three decades, has since taken on positions in a global football capacity with the Red Bull group and in an advisory capacity for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

Liverpool won England's top flight last season, but many fans who revere Klopp would embrace the notion that he might come back one day. During an extensive chat, he shared with Steven Bartlett: ā€œI stated I refuse to lead any other side in England. Therefore in case it's my former club...yeah. In theory, it could happen.ā€

ā€œAt 58 years old, that means the choice could be mine later on, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? Then I will not coach again. Luckily, it's not necessary. I'll simply watch how things unfold.ā€

What Would Lure Him Back?

Pressed on which situations would need to occur to tempt his return to management, he revealed he isn't eager for a comeback. ā€œI don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,ā€ he said. ā€œNo longing for management; No desire to be during downpours through long matches; No need for interviews repeatedly each week or constant media duties weekly.

ā€œThe locker room isn't missed per se, yet sharing a meal alongside the squad having a nice chat, that’s nice. With many victories meaning regularly great spirits in the building. I can still hear Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh in my ear as an instance.ā€

Commending Arne Slot

He spoke highly of the current boss, acknowledging his role for the adjustments which secured the championship in the previous season. The team has suffered a string of losses in every contest post heavy investment, though he denied the idea of it representing a slump.

ā€œ[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker such as Wirtz, critics will regret if spoken against. An outstanding player. [Hugo] Ekitike, incredible player. They have a strong balanced team. Fans shouldn't fret over the club, they'll bounce back.ā€

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

He shared movingly on the loss of the Portuguese star, a 2020 acquisition during his tenure, along with the consequences on Liverpool. The forward was killed in a car crash together with his sibling in July.

ā€œWho can fill the void of somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, it’s the guy he was. I struggle to conceive the squad absent his presence. I find it difficult to discuss about it. It was an incredible shock for his teammates too. Nobody at Liverpool would cite it to justify results yet it's the reality. You walk in a dressing room where his spirit remains. Handling this on a personal level is difficult. Impossible.ā€
