Renowned Star Pat Finn, Known For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside performer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and "The Middle", has passed away aged 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in LA this Monday after undergoing treatment for cancer since 2022, according to media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - only friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a statement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he appeared as the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a regular part on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a host famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the 90s and 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous well-known programs, like:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his on-screen roles, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a comedy group of six called "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised many learners over the years and it would be difficult to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, colleague and actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," he posted on social media.
Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
