Ukrainian authorities have declared the commencement of mass production for an innovative locally engineered defensive UAV to reinforce its air defences. Three initial manufacturers have begun manufacturing, with an additional eleven preparing to set up production lines, the defence ministry announced this past Friday.

Advanced 'Octopus' System Tested in Battlefield Conditions

These UAVs utilize a nationally created system known as “Octopus” designed to intercept Iranian-made drones. This technology has been tested in combat and demonstrated effective “at night, amid electronic warfare and flying low,” officials confirmed. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set an ambitious goal of manufacturing up to 1,000 defensive drones each day.

Latest Attack on Kyiv Characterized as Deliberate

The Ukrainian president characterized Russia’s latest attack against Ukraine as “intentional, calculated and wicked” after six individuals were killed and dozens wounded in a series of nocturnal attacks across Kyiv. Alert systems activated in the capital just after 12 AM on Friday, with Shahed drones soon heard overhead and heavy machine-gun fire from Ukrainian air defences.

Zelenskyy stated the nation was targeted by 430 drones and multiple missiles. The deceased were at home in an apartment building on the capital's left bank during the strike. Dozens of additional structures were damaged, among them the Azerbaijani embassy.

Diplomatic Objection Following Embassy Destruction

The Azerbaijani government announced it issued a strong protest to the Russian ambassador on Friday after the embassy damage. The blast from a Moscow's missile destroyed part of the compound's boundary wall and caused serious damage to the embassy grounds, officials from Baku stated. There were no personnel injured, and an official representative said the diplomatic mission in Ukraine was continuing to operate.

Russian Aerial Bomb Manufacturing Experiences Major Expansion

Moscow plans to produce up to 120,000 glide bombs in the current year, a high-ranking Ukrainian defense official said, among them 500 of a new, extended-range model that is capable of targeting more towns and cities. Moscow's military were firing 200 to 250 glide bombs per day, with the previous month's daily average standing at approximately 170, according to defence ministry data.

Kyiv's Attacks Focus on Moscow's Oil Facilities

Moscow's Black Sea port of the port city halted for a period crude shipments this past Friday – equivalent to two percent of global supply – following a strike by Ukrainian forces. Ukraine’s general staff said its forces had launched domestically produced missiles and deployed various types of attack UAVs in the attack on Novorossiysk “as part of efforts to diminish the military and economic potential of the invading force.”

Ukraine separately struck a processing plant in Russia’s Saratov region and an energy depot in nearby Engels overnight.

Global Sanctions Affect Moscow's Energy Company

The number two energy company Lukoil announced this past Friday it has been in talks with potential buyers concerning its international holdings following recent restrictions from the UK and the US and the collapse of an agreement with the Gunvor trading house. “Final arrangements will be announced once the final agreements have been reached and the necessary regulatory approvals have been obtained,” the company commented.

Ukrainian President Plans Visit to Spain

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to travel to the city of Madrid, the Spanish capital, on Tuesday to meet with parliament members following his trip to France, Spanish parliamentary officials announced. The Ukrainian president would meet deputies from both chambers of parliament during his visit, an official announcement said.
