Vinted Shoppers Express Displeasure Regarding Sizing Modifications

Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information.

The second-hand shopping app has revised its size classifications for female and kids' apparel but did not contact every member regarding the update.

Social Media Reaction

Many shoppers and sellers are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a different size category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.

Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches other platforms.

The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually if necessary, which has left users frustrated.

Size Classification Modifications

Previously, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10.

The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.

For certain items, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was previously a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.

User Accounts

Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," the way the service now categorizes.

Another user, located in Scotland, said garments she listed on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as size 20–22.

"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they're going to be very disappointed," she said.

Manual Updates

A different user, based in Derby, stated she felt frustrated by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item".

"This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and Vinted sales have been crucial for me since losing part of my income," she stated.

Marketplace Information

The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members.

It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This isn't the first time when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: earlier, Vinted reversed a change regarding delivery choices due to shopper criticism.
